The Costs in Aged Care
Not everyone entering aged care is required to pay for the cost of the room (accommodation). If income and assets fall under set thresholds, the government will pay (Fully Support) or subsidise (Partially Support) the cost.
Being an all-inclusive aged care provider, we encourage applications from people of any background with any financial capacity.

Aged Care Fees & Charges Explained
Aged care fees in Australia can be complicated and confusing depending on income and assets. To keep it simple, we have listed the 3 fees that are potentially payable with Menarock LIFE. We also support you further by providing a no obligation, personalised phone consultation and quote.
1. Basic Daily Fee
Everyone pays this fee. It is capped at 85% of the full Centrelink aged pension. It is revised on the 20th of March and September each year. This fee contributes towards day-to-day living costs such as meals, cleaning, laundry, resident activities, and electricity.
2. Accommodation Fee
Not everyone pays this fee. Requirement to pay is based on the level of a resident’s income and assets. It is the cost of the room (advertised price) and can be paid to the provider in three ways (see our room pricing and calculator below).
3. Means Tested Care Fee
Not everyone pays this fee. This is a contribution towards the cost of care and is calculated using a formula based on a resident’s income and assets. This can vary greatly because of the rules of what is included and excluded. The fee can range from $1 – over $260 per day.

Menarock LIFE Room Pricing
Our room prices can be found in the menus below, they vary for each home and are dependent on the room type you choose.
If you are required to pay for the cost of the room as determined by income and assets, there are 3 ways to pay.
1. RAD = Refundable Accommodation Deposit
2. DAP = Daily Accommodation Payment
3. COMBO = Split of RAD + DAP

Any DAP is calculated on an interest rate on the outstanding RAD, set by the Government and is called MPIR (Maximum Permissible Interest Rate).
The Government guarantees all RADs paid to an accredited Residential Aged Care Provider such as Menarock LIFE.
